what we believe

We are a group of people trying hard to live out the life of Jesus.

Dominantly we feel like this means that we reach out to others in practical ways, and those things then speak to the spirit of each person; and there is where God does His best work.

We also are a group of people that believe family matters.  No, not the ’90’s TV show.

Family is the way that we want to operate meaning that we love one another unconditionally, meet everyone where they are, honor the journey that each have traveled & relay the love of God at every turn.

SOME THINGS THAT MATTER FOR THIS FAMILY

1>    Jesus     if we’re not talking about Him we shouldn’t be saying anything

2>    the WORD of God     we’re informed about Jesus through scripture, the holy Bible

3>    excellence     if what we’re doing is important [and we think it is] then we should do it well.  perfection isn’t what we’re after, just the best effort every time out

4>    service     when we serve others there’s something that happens inside us; God changes us when we put our own interests in the shadows

5>    generosity     again, when we give to others [time, abilities, money], recognizing the great generosity of our God good things happen inside us, causing us to be more like Jesus

6>    faith     all of these things are built out of a faith in our God & His saving Son, Jesus Christ; if we do not have faith in what He has done we are less likely to put action to our words

The Bible is the inspired & authoritative Word of God.

[2 Timothy 3:16]

God loves us through Christ, & by accepting and following Jesus we begin the Christian life.

[Acts 16:30-31]

When we receive Christ and God saves us He automatically makes us members of His Church.

[Acts 2:4-7]

Christians receive guidance and strength to grow in Christ by receiving the Holy Spirit.

[1 Thessalonians 4:7-8]

God sent His Church into the World on the mission of helping all persons, everywhere have the opportunity to become disciples of Jesus Christ.

[Matthew 28:19, 20]

Jesus will return one day to take the Church to Heaven eternally and to sit in judgment on sinful unbelief.

[2Timothy 4:1, 2]

we agree to disagree

There are some doctrines on which two Christians may agree to disagree, even though they are in the same local church and part of the same leadership team.  These would include but are not limited to; the dating of events in Genesis, how things play out with the Lord’s return, and separation from worldly practices. When we teach in any such area, it is made clear these beliefs are not essential for salvation. We may state the case for a specific position, but will also acknowledge that sincere and intelligent Christians hold different views; never taking an attitude of pride. We are committed to nurturing the unity we share as the family of God, and to obeying His command to love another.

[Romans 14:1-15:7; 2 Timothy 2:23-24; Titus 3:9]
